MULTI-CULTURAL DAY: World Tour in School

“There is beauty in our differences.

There is love in our hearts.”

Truebright Science Academy Charter School successfully celebrated diversity with pride by designing each of the classrooms aiming to increase awareness in students, staff, and the entire school community of the different cultures of the world; together, Truebright community shared pieces of information with challenging, interesting, and fun activities that truly made the sharing of cultures unique, on June 7, 2013.

Each classroom represented a country showcasing the history, local traditions, language, food, products and interesting facts. Students had multi-cultural passports, which they had to complete by moving around each country gathering essential information and drawing the flag of the country visited. Students’ passports served as their exit ticket, and before leaving the class the teacher initialed them as a sign of completion; only after the teacher signing his/her name could students move to the next country to continue to tour.

Students had fun as they traveled the world inside the school building. They learned great things, had tasted variety of food, had seen and touched imported products from Australia, Brazil, Chile, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, France, Guyana, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Norway, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Russia, Spain and Turkey. It was indeed an unforgettable multi-cultural experience for all the entire school community.
